en no contact between the World Federation of Demooratio
because plans for opening an office there had been disoussed in Budapest
in 1954. This office is not an important one because all important questions
that arise oontinueto be'handled by headquarters in Budapest. Journalist
Paul Gillet, a member of the French CP,who had been employed at WFDY head-
quarters from 1951 to 1953, was mentioned as head of the Paris office.
Regional Offices of the WFDY
There were no plans for moving WFDY. headquarters from Budapest to Vienna;
employees at headquarters in Budapest took for granted the fact that
headquarters would remain in Budapest but that WFDY regional offices might
possibly be opened eventually in Lon on, Rome, and other capitals. '
Source believed that the WFDY possibly has a small regional office in Paris

Youth WFDY and the official, Yugoslavian Communist youth organization
since the latte was expelled from the WPDY after the Tito-Stalin split.
In November 1954, there was some discussion within the ,WFDY Secretariat
about inviting the Yugoslav youth organization to send a delegation to
the Warsaw Congress] however, no decision regarding this had~been reached
at the time source defected.
There were no pro-Soviet Yugoslav youth groups organized outside of Yugo-
slavia and there was no one at WFDY headquarters assigned the responsibility
for mature dealing with Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia had more or less ceased.
to exist as far as the WPDY was concerned.
