OF PAGES .3 REFERENCES: 25X1 a. Toe Project Office for Industrial Buildings (Ipari ipzlettervezc7 Vallalat - IPARTERV) was located at V. Fereno Desk utoa 10 and at V. V of utca ll-B. This office was supervised by the EM and had'branches in both Miskolc (N 48-o6, E 20-47) and Gyar (N 47-41, E 17-38). All industrial buildings, such as factories, plants, etc., were planned by IPARTERV. Because industrialization was the most important feature of the Five- Year-Plan, IPARTERV,was the largest project of fine in Hungary and had the best architects and engineers; these architects and engineers were better paid that those who worked in other pro- ject offices. The Project Office for Public Buildings ~(KtSzepulet Tervezo In- tezet - KQZTI) was located at V. KecNkemeti utca and was under the supervision of EM. This office had about 500 to 60Q em- ployees who worked mainly on drafting projects for city planning. c. The Project Office for Domestic Architecture (Varosepit4si Ter- vez6 Iroda - VXTI) was located at VII, Madleh tifr and was un- der the supervision of EM. This office prepared the plan9 for all dwellings in Sztalinveros and the Peoples' stadium (Nep- stadion) in Budapest. This office had about 500 to 600 em- ployees. d. T e Institute for Architectural Science (Epitestudomdonyi In- tEzet - ETI) was located at V. Apponyi t r, had about 250 to 300 employees, and was under the supervision of EM. ETI was an institute which did research on construction materials and on the development of reinf rued coporete. The chief engineer of this office was Dr. Istvin Menytrard who was imprisoned for several months in 1948 or 1,949, charged with "anti-Communist conspiracy" (Magyar K3zc$eseg Trial), as The.stats Project Office (Allami Tervezo Iroda - AMTI) was lo- oated at XII.Krisztina kd'rut and was supervised by EM. This office worked on the plans for all types of state office build- ings, ministries, barracks, etc., and had about 600 to 700 em- ployees. The chief engineer of the office was xtvtr a.iler, a former oontraoto r f. The Budapest City Project Office/Capital Project Office (Bu a- pest Varosi Tervez3,Iroda/Favarosi Tervezo Iroda - BTVATI/FOTI) was. ooated at V. Varoshdz utca in the Budapest City Hall. It was Supervised by EM and was in charge of repairing dwellings and apartments. It had about 200 employees who were primarily old construction contractors. g.
