Fifteen hundred men of the class of 192 all from
the Brya :7skaya. Oblast - were inducted into the
service at this time. There were no women inductees.

One was totally deaf; the other had extremely poor
vision. The preinduction physical examination was
very superficial and unless a prospective inductee
complained of some malady, he was rarely examined4

Bryanskaya Oblast inducted for active duty on 27 Nov 48
were also on the train which arrived in German&
on 10 Feb 4+9.

There were some members
of the classes of 1926 and 1927 in the Soviet Zone, but all
of these were career soldiers. The majority of soldiers
were from the class of 1928,
