Class I Supplies
There was a former German flour mill and bakery in Neu-
strelitz which was used as a bakery and bread storage point
for all units of the 9th Guards Tank Division. The 17th,
33rd, 47th, 50th and 65th Regiments and other subordinate
units of the division picked up bakery products there daily.

There also was an emergency ration depot
(NZ - Neprikosnovennye Zapasy) located in a large brick
building adjacent to the bakery. F1O1rproduts such as
cookies ap&cradkers, and canned fruit ax).4.:vegetables-wesept
here, supposedly for combat use. I-never. saw the rations
myself but I am certain that they Were for'emergency use and
none were issued'to troops frOMthia-pOint. I know nothing
about the capacity of the building or the amount of rations
stored there.
Class II and Class IV Supplies
2, A clothing depot which serviced AIl'unita Of the Second guards
Mechanized Army was located approximatelyOne kilometer
.south of the railroad 'station in-FUeratenberg .(5209N71441E).
It covered the area on both sides of the railroad line which
runs from Frankfurt/Oder to Guben.?I passed this depot on.
the way to an ?artillery range and noticed that the barbed wire
fence is visible from the road. I was told by soldiers who
had been in the area for that this was a military
post with a large clothing depot. T. have no knowledge con-
cerning ordnance ,andongineerJ,nTOPMPAlto9X4,44AWAnd
medical supplies.

3. There was a POL depot used by the units of the 9th Guards
Tank Division located about one kilometer north - northwest
of the outskirts of Netistrelitz I can give no details con-
cerning the capacity, activity or the type of vehicles
serviced there.
Class V Supplies

Rocket, mortar, artillery and howitzer shells were kept
at the depot. I believe that this depot serviced units of the
9th Guards Tank Division but it may have serviced other units
of the Second Guards Mechanized Army.

the 9th Guards Tank Division stopped by here when they went
to the firing range with live amMUnition I have no know-
ledge of the capacity of this depot or the amount of
supplies kept on hand. A guard detail of enlisted men from
various subordinate units of the 9th Guards Tank Division
was on 24 hour duty. They were billeted there while on duty
and no other enlisted men or officers lived there. The
commanding officer was attached to the Headquarters Staff
of the 9th Guards Tank Division and lived in Neutitrelitz'
I have no knowledge concerning the movement of supply dumps
towards the West prior to any hostile action nor do I know
anything about the contemplated level of supply necessary
prior to commitment of the Soviet Armed Forces to combat
operations.

I can furnish the following figures on unit of fire.

76 mm guns 240 shells
100 mm guns 150 shells
57 mm AT guns 240 shells

The above figures are for peadetime training, and according
to statements of some officers, for the first blow in combat
action. After that time, a continuous flow?or'as much as
Is required for offensive or defensive actionowould come
to the regiments and subordinate units from the USSR via
the respective army and division. I can't give any
offensive or defensive battle supply figures.
I have no knowledge of plants in the Soviet Zone of Germany
which manufacture ammunition. I have no idea of how much POL
Is necessary to fill all the vehicles of the unit. Although
I don't know the basis for computing fuel consumption it is
my opinion that the average cruising range of a prime mover
on one tank of fuel is about 200 kilometers (three ton
Studebaker).
I know nothing about Soviet engineering policy
I saw heavy ponton equipment,
znree large amphibian trucks, and four amphibian trucks,
10 to 12 meters long and four meters wide, pass through the
town.
I have no knowledge concerning chemical warfare equipment or
supplies. I believe that the gas masks are stored at the
ammunition depot of the 9th Guards Tank Division.-
