THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
The head of PVO in the USSR, is the Deputy Commander for the
Ministry of ;;firmed Forces, USSR.
PVO is separate from the Soviet Army, possessing its own
artillery, aricraf't, etc.
The regiment is t~:e smallest tactical unit in PVO. In some
instances. where the target to be defended is toe small to
warrant a unit of regimental size, a battalion may be useds
but these are rathex? exceptional cases,
