Admiral CRerclow (2augligy) took command of the Polish Navy in the summer of
1950. replacing,Admiral Stever. He was from the USSR and did not speak Polish.
Admiral IAAlingowskil from the USSR, was also in the to echelon of command50X1
the Polish Navy, 50X1

Commander Polak0 was commanding officer of tho submarine service. Rs was a
technical officer. He was a Soviet officer and wore .a Soviet uniform. Under
his command, all Polish submarines were being converted to the Soviet type, The
"Semp" has been converted. the "Rye and "Zbik" still re-
tained their own equipment but were scheduled for conversion. Commander
zjial. was Assistant to Chief of Navy for Political Affairs. He spoke Polish with
