Leonowics engaged in hit-and-run tactics in the Lublin area. He burned grain in
the field and attacked U9 outposts. The small outposts of the U3 and Communist
Party members in small towns feared him, 25X1
Leonowicz was in contact with similar groups, but Odoubt what-her 25X1
there were any large groups of partisans operating in Poland. Partisan activity
was more of an annoyance than a danger to the present regime, like a fly '25X1
ritating an elephant,
