In April 1951 a commission from Moscow surveyed all vehicles in the Soviet Zone ol
Germany. All vehicles requiring major overhaulir_miage were exchanged shortly
thereafter. A majority of the wheeled vehicles ere of US origin. 11150X1
were in good condition and could be used in any large scale offensive action. 1
would may that 45 of the 48 trucks in my unit were US made. 50X1
Soviet units are issued full amounts of all type supplies. These aupplies are
not consumed during maneuvers but are maintained as basic loads. Tre supplies
Issued are similar in type and amounts to those which were issued prior to an
offensive during World War II. The supplies issued are sufficient ir quantity
to enable forces in. Germany to initiate an attack on the west.
