2. The Marchlewski Plant in addition, to making basic paper products was producing other
items for Poland's war industry, The
plant� which was the pride of the community, was owned by two or three very wealthy
partners and employed thousands of workers. It had subsidiaries in other parts of
Poland but none in the Wloclawek area. The factory had its own steam power plant,
which employed coal as its fuel.

3. The pottery factory (() was owned in 1939 by a Mr. Chamanski, a Jew who was
probably killed by the,Nazis. A man named Bauer owned the distillery (9) and
Mr. Blumenthal owned the sawmill (12). Two brothers named Boyanchyk owned the
brewery (15) and the brick kiln (14). The wire factory (2) and the Stella Coffee
Company (5)were under the same ownership, as were the Agricultural Equipment -
Factory (3) and the Instrument Factory.

Wroclaw, one of whose chief plants was that for the manufacture of rail-
road cars. It was shattered duringWorld war II but prior to /947'had, been repaired
and enlarged and was, in full-scale operation.
