Prior to World War II Nikita Sergaevich Khrushchevl was serving then as Secretary General of t e ommunist Party of the Ukraine. Khrushehev worshipped and believed in Stalin and never thought Of anything else. His speeches and talks both public and private were of a typical Soviet character. His Quill objective in life seemed to be to obey Stalin's directives to the letter. 2. Khmatelev was in excellent health and a tireless worker; 3 He was afraid of groups because he believed that the eyes and ears of the NVD were in groups. Kbrushohev was never in contact with others. \ Every official has _what is known as a private secretary or secretaries. Having come rrow 6Qientific or cultural groups or having had special training for the job, these secretaries are far sore iutelleotua1 than their masters. They write letters, speeches, and other written materials, gathering information and materials, checking it systematically, and preparing it for the official to present. Such secretaries always remain in the background working in secret. They could produce little-known and unknown information of tremendous importance about their Communist bosses. In most cases the secretary is closely related to the official and lives in the official's quarters or close by. - end - CLASSIFICATION CONFIDENTIAL/SECURITY INFORMATION DISTRIBUTION srArr EV 50X1 50X1 im,,,ineeifiarl in Part - Sanitized Com/ Approved for Release @ 50-Yr 2014/11/04 CIA-RDP82-00047R000200800008-2
