In general, the Novorossisk Bay area is clear of all wrecks and obstructions, the
only existing obstacle being in the area of the Penaiskaya Bank (Penal Bank).
The Foul Ground shown at approximate position 37?50'25"El 44?39128" 17, is reported
clear. The light shown on the obstruction just northwest of this Foul Ground
was not seen
A light at 37052'12" E, 44?39'34" NI is reported to flash red.
The Penal. Point light shown as flashing every two seconds reportedly now shows
two flashes every ten seconds, and one red flash.
All wrecks in the bay north of Oudzhukskaya Kosa (Sudzhuk,Toint) are reportedly
clear, ship was allowed to leave Novorossisk through
any area of the bay with the exception of the area shown as Middle Ground.

On the copy of the :chart of Novorossisk Harbor (insert taken from HO Chart 42171
"Novorossisk BaYn:) the following corrections and annotations:
(A The mast of a wreck shown south of the Eastern Mole on the chart, Novorossisk
Harbor was not seen by source,-
(4 Both Eastern and Western Moles appeared to have been repaired and to be in good
condition. There is no netting or chaining between these two moles.
The wreck shown southeast of the Cement Works Pier on the chart, Novorossisk
Harbor was not observed by source. A fixed green light appears on the southeast
corner Of the ,Cement Works Pier.
