Hetdquarters of the Secret Police (AVH) moved to new quarters, completed in 19510
on Sopte Road whiah runs in a northeasterly direction from the city of Szombathely.
The brick building of several stories is between the city and the Szombathely airport.
torture chambers for politically =reliable people are located
in a sub-basement. inese chambers are so arranged that when a person is arrested by
the AVH he is immediately driven to the torture chembers" and the automobile proceeds
to an exit on the opposite side of the building. This aocouritg rcir the large number
of sudden disappearances. No one has been able to, clet.Prmine he ultimate disposition
