1. Because so much Soviet territory is sr,op',ound durint, the winter, the USSR
has developed a vehicle kroul as the "Acro-Sanin (Aero-Sle:hs). This
vehicle, is mounted on three von - wide ecis and is digvs, 1- a ro-,033o,-
at srecds 1.,p to shout 155 kiaortters per hour.
2. During World War II aero-sleighs were used extensively for transporting
supplies across frozen lake Ladoga to the besieged city of Leningrad.
Aero-sleighs were also used for evacuating the wounded from a combat area.
For a the during World War II some of the navigation schools, such as the
Chelvabin,* Avinticr, Shool, the Melitopol Aviation School and others
