The ETC members agreed to establish a working group which will drift tease terms of reference and submit them to the sra do oo : r .t?tee of the EIC for review. The EIC avi] 1 then submit thin outline to the JIC for Informal review and comments Ern Guthe, asked that nominations for agency representation and for the chairmanship of the vork1mg group be sent to the MO Secretariat by 31 July, was nominated by CIA as 25X1A9a a candidate for chairman of this group. Some r?epre?sentativv, however, felt that this was e4 ' ,y of procedural value and gave no substantive guidance. The EIC aqwm.ps agreed that the main committee should give more substantive gi :dance and in the coming year should concern itself more with economic research problems of major national security interests and less with problems of procedure. In this connection, two specific suggestions were I, >des (a) that each subcommittee review the statistics of major importance in its particular field and report to ? IIC on the principle deficiencies of these statistics; and (b) that on project of major national security importance, r 2 Approved For Release 1999/09/10 : CIA-RDP82-00283R000100150005-6 83 R000IQ01~50005-6 .on y the Subccorr ttse duet, the next e4 - tg 3 ,, aired to s bmil t their t no* +n +?nft .,.ate.. ,, .. +a2 budTiJil~. ,f,~:8 Approved For Relea999/09110 Approved For Release 1999/09/10 CIA-RDP82-00283R000100150005-6 ogre entatives were resr~ t f p n rom all EIC Subs o ittees V Ore very u; eful. d3 scussiorw of the various Subcomrdtbee annual w 'Xi.
