SUBJECT : Annual Report for Fiscal Year 1962
A. Activities of the Subcommittee on Chemicals During Pr 1962
The EIC Subcommittee on Chemicals held one meeting during
fiscal year 1962. This meeting we devoted to: 1) a briefing
by a representative of the US Disarmament Administration on
inspection and control systems required fbr arms control; and
2) a discussion on future activities of the subcasittee vith
particular reference to the matter of coordinating reports.
The Subeoseittee perfbrsed no other functions during fiscal
year 1962.
Be Future Program of the Subcom?ittee
In fiscal year 1963 the Subeo?ittee viii give consideration
to revising its statement of Priority Deficiencies of Research
(EIC-S-1/2) which is now four yews old. Consideration vi11 also
be given to updating the Subcommmittee statement on 'Priority
Collection Deficiencies an the Chemical and Related Industries of
the USSR" (September 1960) and to preparing a similar statement
on Communist China.
Although. the Subeoeittee on CheThicals has been relatively
inactive in the last two years, it appears to have considerable
standby value as a body for coordinating intelligence, eliminating
duplication in research effbrts, and in disseminating now intelli-
gence.
