New formulation of P'NEIOs (Feb'64) specifically identified problems within the context of PNIO and identified prifical- d(ific.ient:ies with respect to the problems that appeared to require exceptional collection effort. INTER-COMMITTEE COORDINATION RESPONSIBILITIES: The SIC shall share with the JAEIC, GMAIC, EIC and other appropriate IB committees responsibility for the coordination of areas of joint or overlapping concern. Care shall be taken to avoid undesirable dupli- cation in activities and also to ensure that no important scientific, technical or economic intelligence mater is neglected or escapes attention by falling between areas of established separate committee activities. The chairman of each of these committees shall be respon- sible for ensuring liaison and coordination with the other committees involved on any and all matters of joint or overlapping concern. Because of the close relationship of the SIC, the JAEIC, and the GMAIC, close coordination is imperative. The SIC should take the initiative in ensuring that such coordination is effected in areas of joint or overlapping g concern.
