3. Action: Approved as amended. TAB A. dealing with the
propaganda campaign in detail, will be eliminated. TABS B and C
will be included on the ground that these materials will provide
useful factual reference for some of the readers of this estimate.
It was understood that the Department of State would make this
estimate available to the Consul General at Hong Kong for his
information.
Status and Effectiveness
of Trade Controls Against
Communist China EIC-R-1
4. Action: Approved. There was general satisfaction expressed
with the tenor and result of the discussions with the UK on this sub-
ject. The Economic Intelligence CoMittee was commended for its work.
