IAC members will telephone in any further proposed- changes prior to final dissemination.. 5. Executive Session At 1225 the Chairman, at the request of the Joint Staff member, called for a brief Executive Session. Among other matters discussed, the Committee directed the production by early September of a supplement to NIE 11-6-54, "Soviet Capabilities and Probable Programs in the Guided Missile Field, " dated 5 October 1954_,. to bring that estimate up to data. On 23 June 1955, the IAC concurred by telephone in the revisions agreed upon by the IAC representatives to the text of NIE 11-7-55 "Soviet Gross Capabilities for Attacks on the US and Key Overseas Installations through Mid-1958" approved by the IAC on 17 May 1955 (IAC-M-196, item 3). NIA 11-7-55 will therefore carry the 23 June date. 4. No objection having been raised by a member, the Secretary has authorized release to USIA of NIE 3Q-55 "Middle East Defense Problems and Prospects, " 21 June 1955. (IAC-M-201, Secretary's Note, item 3.) SNIE 11-9-55 "Clandestine Introduction of Nuclear Weapons. " 5. The Board of National Estimates has recommended that 6, Unless objection is raised by a member at the next regular meeting of the IAC, the Secretary proposes to release to USIA., NIE 2 3- 55 and the 12.eunification Issue, " 28 June 195.
