Cavenagh, Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence designate, who was introduced by Admiral Espe and to Brigadier General Alva R. Fitch, Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, for Foreign Operations, who was introduced by General Trudeau. 2 Meeting Scheduled for NIE 100-4/1-55 "Morale on Taiwan" The State member indicated that the Secretary of State would like to have this estimate by Saturday night, 16 April. It was thereupon agreed to schedule a meeting of the IAC for the purpose of completing action on it at 0930, Saturday, 16 April. 3. Approval of Minutes 29 March 1955 Meeting (IAC-M-190) Approved as written. 4. Soviet Atomic Program (NIE 11-2-55, Limited Distribution) At the request of the AEC member, consideration of this estimate was deferred until the next regular meeting of the IAC on 19 April. Anti-Communist Resistance Potential in the Soviet Bloc (NIE 10-55) The estimate was approved, subject to a footnote to paragraph 9 by the State member. It was agreed that the Annexes to the paper would be published with the estimate but with a separating page containing the notation that they "have been coordinated among the IAC agencies. 7. Advisory Committee on Foreign Language Publications Second Annual Report (IAC-D-60 4, 24 March 1955) 25X1 8. The report was approved and it was agreed to call for a progress report on the implementation of its recommendations in six months. 25X6 10. Communist Prospects in Malaya and Related Territories (NIE 64-55) The Chairman invited the attention of the members to this new estimate being prepared at the request of the NSC Planning Board. (ONE Memorandum dated 8 April 1955) 11. Personnel for Indications Center The Chairman requested that the members check on the action taken in their agencies to carry out the agreement reached on 23 February to recruit up to five additional persons for the purpose of maintaining the temporary 24-hour watch already established in the Indications Center. He urged thatsteps be taken to provide the necessary personnel. (See IAC'M-185, Revised, item 3) Adjournment: 1125 Secretary Secretary's Note 1. No objection having been raised by a member, the Secretary has authorized the release to USIA of NIE 12. 5-55 "Current Situation and Probable Developments in Hungary" (IAC-M-190, Secretary's Note, item 3) 2. Unless objection is raised by a member at the next regular meeting of the IAC, the Secretary proposes to release to USIA NIE 10- 55 "Anti-Communist Resistance Potential in the Soviet Bloc.
