IAC Membership The Chairman and members welcomed General Lewis, recently designated Director of Intelligence, Headquarters, United States Air Force, as a new member of the IAC, replacing General Samford. 2. Approval of Minutes 22 May Meeting (IAC-M-240) Approved as written, subject to amendment to item 6, to add the following: "It was agreed that the release should not be considered a precedent for the release of other estimates of this character or concerning this area." The members concurred in the suggestion of the Chairman that it should be the general understanding that no decision to release an estimate should ever be construed as a binding precedent. 3. Watch Committee Reports No. 303 and No. 304 Noted the reports. 4. Arab-Israeli Situation (Report by Ad Hoc Working Group of IAC, 18 May 1956; maps and charts annex, 22 May 1956) Noted the report and annex. Noted the Subcommittee's report, dated 7 March 1956, and approved the actions and priorities recommended by the Subcommittee in that report.
