The State of Saxony has ordered the ii nediate establishment of artisans
13 cooperatives (HHandwerkagenos:ienschaften).; The purchase and distribution .
of all raw materials for artisans will be handled by these cooperatives.
They will also take over the sale of all. goods produced by the artisari3Q
o artisan has the right now to buy or sell arryt,hing independently=,,
Both artisans and apprentices must join these cooperatives.

in almost complete] in tae hands of 39)) people withaut any practical es-
perienee o It is claimed that a shoemaker who asked the Chamber for an
allotment of glue for his work received one ton,, with the result that
others who applied received none at all!
At the end of, August a meeting was held in p3autzen at which it Was planned
to establish an artisan. cooperative. Uut of SOO .rtisaris who were invited,,
sixty appeared. When a vote was taken . sixteen voted for the organization of
a cooperative. (Appaa ntly the other forty-four did not vote at all.) The
chairs thin announced that the Artisans' Cooperative of the FDGB iri Baut,ien
was officially founded, since seven atembers are enough to establish co--
operative society.
