He had come from nonetantinople via Rome by British plane. Two or three months ego, Cvetkovich sent to former Prime Minister Bidault a detailed explanation and analysis of his reasons for aiming the Vienna pro-Axis 'agreement in 1941. He obtained his present French visa by direct application to the Quai D'Orsay without difficultyo it is said that Cvetkovich plans permanent residence in Paris. 2, Cvetkovich has already had discussions with Macek who still values his abilities* 4e, expressed the following convictions to Macek: Ae That the Monarchy is no longer acceptable to the Yugoslav people. B. That there exists a desirability for a Bulgarian-Yugoslav union and for the close collaboration beteeen the Bulgarian and Yugoslav peasant orposition. C. That Macedonia should retain autonomous status on a footing with the other Federated Yugoslav Republics. D. That the Yueoslav opposition should be founded within the framenork of the present lational Front Governuent if poseible. If not, it should be centered abroad and based on complete accord between Milan Gavrilovich in London and Dragoljub Jovanovich in Belgrade. E. That no political leaders non. in London have any support inside Yugo- slavia exceob perhaps Micah Bobiole, the Serb Radical loader. Ovetkovioh has not yet seen King Peter, who is still in Paris seeking a Swims visa, nor other Serb leaders there. Ho will probably receive a very cool re- oeption when he does see the King. It is thoueht that Cvetkovich hopes to estab- 'eish himself as the reoognised leader of the Serb Radical Party and to tie himself closely to Mau* in order to recover his lost political prestige, Mean- while Maoek is being advised strongly by his closest advisers not to make any eommitments to Cvetkovioh which might endanger the success of the projected eonversatione with the Serbs in London. 4. Male in Rome during the end of November, Cvetkovich held one or more meetings with the Slovene leader Miha Krek peseibly with a view to forming a new Yugoslav Committee in Paris to the detriment of the present London Committeee He also eontaeted Dr. Ivan Parnar, General Enanasovich, former Yugoslav Military Attache to RCO-J:8itla Adanja, former Belgrade lawyer, and Cyril Kotnik. Adahja stated that he Was told by Cvetkovich that the latter signed the Axis pact only at the 25X1A9a equest of the Russians* It is thought that this may represent the groundwork 2 25X1A9a 5X1A2g DADSO _ EXEC CONTROL CLASSIFICATION NITAL 4.1.-kf-l-77(111413-6F MiNG ti-(!)Ti 41i ITS, fTic)vl F VER , OTRB P___P____. iAn APMve 25X1A9a CONTROL US OFFICIALS ONLY Approved For Release 2000/06/06 : CIA-RDP82-00457R000100790006-2 CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE minx? mmilOWErrallmirL -2- for a *Impair,* to whitewash Ovetkovich should the Mace oonferenoe indicate the advisability of such a step,' Veskoslav Ewer, a Slovene liberal, learned or Cvetkovioh's presence and meetings in Rome, and informed the local and foreign press wh3oh apparently interviewed Cvetkovich.
