SED leaders have been informed by SMA that they may a .pect Reichstag
elections in February or rc) 1947, The SED has to decide whether
or not to participate,in the government to be formed at that tire.
The results of the Berlin election are expected to Influence the S1 D
decieaion. A number of SE0 leaders, includ.ng Paul rker, are said to
favor becoming the opposition party. They point to the scant thanks
