Lt.. General Lin lei--c',ou (- .A:6 ?) is cor.; -ndin!* general. Of the "rationalist
AM. (former 62 Division, with headquarters in Tientsin. He is the first
2 rnan to receive the Sky White Sun's ( FJ 3 ) triedal, the highest lu~
'hinese military decoration. The award was fox gnIlgntry in action in the nttle
of Uanking in 1937 when he was a Brigade comr,ander. He does not sneak An~lish,
but understands a little French, although he dcus not speak it.
Lt. Colonel Vei Ping-tsai p 'sonrl secretary to General Lin,
nets as interoreter and liaison man with Atr.erican forces. He is a native of
Taishan (115-i?, 23-58). He studied at Marquette University in Ifi.lwaukee,
scan sin.
.:1thin the oast two months this unit has received orders to use the New 2 Army
dedim-.tion. It is composed of the 95, 151 gnd 1'7 Divisions; each division
bas two regiments. Most of the troops are Cantonese.

Peinin" at present. It is responsible for warding the northern half of the
Tientsin-Peiping railway.
