The following members of the Agrupacion de J'uersas Armadas de la Republica Espanola were reported on 25 January 1947 to have arrfvsd in Paris, having 25X1X6 escaped on 23 January through Behobia, Basses Pyrenees: Francisco Alda Sagasti, an officer of the APABE, who was employed as Chief 4ccountaant in the Agromaa, S.A., construction company of Barcelona. He belongs to the Confederation National del Trabajo (ONT), and during the Spanish Civil War was a captain in the Army of Buskadi, Manuel Arzobido Artasa, who was in the ranks of the AFABI3 and pro-)-ad as a day laborer in the Agroamn plant. He also is a member of the ONT, 014ulia Redondo Blanco, associated with Alda in the AFARE. 2. Alda stated that after the first arrests of ARABS leaders, precautions were taken by members of the organisation and it appeared that the storm had blown over. Subsequently, however, new arrests were made, principally an the Seas district, of AFAR members who had not been molested previously. 3. On 9 January Aida heard that information about him had been given to police officers and that they were delaying his arrest in the hope of trapping the whole group. On 10 January the police went to the offices of Agroman. S.A. and asked for the personnel roster. Alda, with Arsobido and Senora de R d.ondo, eluded the police and went to Valencia, thence to Madrid,,Bilbao and San Sebastian. Senora de Redondo bad managed to obtain false papers 25X1 X6 for them by.bribing a policeman in Barcelona. 4. According to Alda, arrests of some APARS members are the result of the work of a spy for Chinchilla of the Barcelona Police Headquarters, a certain Mali, who has penetratedCNT circles. Moll, Aids stated, is always armed and escorted by two agents. According to Arsobido, another informer is Fernando Vidal, nephew of a police commissioner.
