SUPPLEMENT
1. The E .W . d onstration held on 7 February Fore the Acropole Hotel,
Athens headquarters of the U. N. lu'+-e stigation Cos .salon, was secretly
planned and highly organized by the 1OB's (Ccamrdst Organisation of the
Base) in an effort to prevent police interference. In the event that
serious trouble had occurred during the demonstration, UUIbZ- ply
to argue that the gathering was a spontaneous dam, for a hearing
before the U. X. Commission, but was not a substitute for the meeting
requested and scheduled for 8 February, but prohibited by the Govern.
2. A seco E. application to hold a demonstration, with the alleged purpose
of showing the public = e desire for "conciliation" with the Axe and
for a termination of hostilities, was denied by the Government on the
grounds f heat such a demonstration would constitute a threat to public security.
