1. There is an ordnance factory equipped with forty or fifty machines in operation
at the former automobile wa ehouse, More than 200 workers, mostly Japanese,
are employed. This factory manufactjltres mortar shells and ammunition for
small-size machine guns and hand-grenades; it also salvages weapons.
2. The larger of two knitting factories is not operating at present. The smaller
or At the former Kuan-lin-shu fffactoryz7 produces twenty rolls of materials
daily from eight knitting machines.
.A bank note press is operating and prints all denominations of Communist
Ourr y.
4. A leather factory, at the former CTan-Hsien Lumber Company, employs about 180
workers and produces shoes and other leather goods for military use.
A match factory in Nenchiang Hsien has not yet started production.
