a By th end of November 1946, the Jager (infantry), Blumenthal
(armored) and Panzer (armored and other units) barracks had
been evacuated
b. The large wheat supply in the Erfurt food depot on the Blumen--
strasse was emptied about I December. Casual informants re-
ported that the wheat %s transferred to : uprly points in
Czec-iosloVakia.
e. On 9 Dece,maer: aoz)roxi r?ately 21500 men were present at morning
roll call held at Binde-eslehen airfield (.J26). The airfield
commander is .,t Cci Yurgienkov.

As of 27-29 November, there were only about 1OO Soviet troops in
town. `These were not combat troops.
Jena J6
a. The artillery barracks in Jena-Zwatzen held 500 to 600 armored
troops during the period 25 to 28 November. This unit possessed
T-34 and Stalin tanks, some of them, apparently, left behind by
an armored battalion which had departed.
b. Anti-tank units have let. According to Russian soldiers these
units went to Apoida and Weimar. Recruits in thy; Oberrealschule
have been reduced from one battalion to two infantry comranies,
and their training schedule has been cut somewhat.
c. Source estimates the total strength in Jena at 2.000 to 2,1500
mien. Most of the officers have r ma i ned; older NC4s have been
replaced by younger ones sent from Russia.
