The following report was received from Rome:
1. The Swiss Minister to the Argentine in September 1946, accord-
ing to source, transferred to the Argentine Government funds
previously deposited by the German Ambassador with the Swiss
Legation. Among them were: 54 Peruvian gold soles; 22,000
Chilean gold pesos; 3,500 gold dollars (source believes that
they may have been in $20 dollar gold pieces); 4,196 gold
sovereigns.
2. Source reports that agents of Fritz Mandl are offering to help
former Nazis,, SS officers,, and German technicians of various
categories to emigrate to the Argentine to be placed in former
German enterprises nationalized by the Argentine Government,
3. A group of German Protestant pastors, source reports, recently
arrived in the .Argentine. They are said to be commmicating
with a Protestant Missionary Society in Basel, Source says
that it may be used to cover neo-Nazi propaganda.
