Lauban.
Lauban, known for its handkerchief industry, was badly damaged during Russian
aieraids. Relocated factories have been either destroyed or dismantled. Only
one of the handkerchief factories operates to some extent. It is hampered by
a shortage of machinery and raw materiels. The railway repair shces, which
formerly employed 1,000 workers, lack skilled personnel. One of he two
textile factories in Gebhardsdorf? near Lauban, is in operation. ao strategic
material is produced in Lauban.

The former furniture factory Ruscheney, Tisch-und Moebelfabrik Aktiengesell-
?schafttagain manufactures furniture. No war material is being produced there.
