the local Komendatura. Their identity cards are stamped by the Komendatura
at each visit. At the registration every detail of training is carefully
noted. Practically no interest is show in farir infantry troops. On the
other hand all details are noted of men from the Luftwaffe, tanks, chemical
engineers, paratroops, corbat engineers, navy, and transportation units.
2. The Soviets have also demonstrated interest in the following:
a. In Prenelau, Stendal,Magdeburg, and Nordhausen all. tractors, trucks,
cars, and other vehicles using rubber tires have to be reported and
are examined by a mixed Russo -German co mission.
b. Similarly all horses in. those areas are subject to examination by
a commission. The given is F'Fruhjehrbestellung der Land .rtschaft".
c. All spare parts for motor vehicles have also to be reported.
d. In Kreis Pronslau all skilled workers must be registered, especially
those from the metal and shipbuilding industries, who worked on
armaments during the war.
3. The following Wehrmacht and specialist personnel have disappeared from the
Prenslau area under strange circurtarnces:
a. One major, one colonel, and one genera., all elderly men, who had
managed small estates in the neighborhood, were summoned recently
to the Komeendatura, from which they did not return. Their present
whereabouts are unknown.
b. One chemist, who formerly worked for the Stickstoffwerk-Oppeln, one
machine tool specialist who formerly worked in an armament factory
in Upper Silesia, and one compressor specialist have already been
taken from Prenzisu to an unknown destination. These three are all
