1. Marcos Perez Jiminez, Chief of Staff of the Venezuelan Army is reported to
he strongly opposed to the United States Military Mission and to have re-
quested that a Chilean or some other military scission be substituted.
2 Perez is also said to be opposed to receiving Ameri -mde arms and ammmition
under the erns standardization program and to prefer Czechoslovakian- ar$
Instead.
3. This attitude of Perez is said to cause considerable dissatisfaction to
Carlos Delgado Chiibaud, Minister of War, who is in favor of both above
programs.
