Between the middle of Mav and the middle of Jane, the number of Soviet troops
in Plovdiv and vicinity lreremed considerably. In most neighboring 'tillages
there are Soviet military cams, where there is constant movement. The troops
leaving these camps usua3lv proceed towards the Greek and Turkish frontier.
2. Once again in Flovdiv practically all hotels have been requisitioned :'or and
are full of Soviet officers. Among the hotels are the following: "Koop", "Mola",
"Astoria", "Musala", "Paris",. "Continental", "Trakia" and "Burgas". The
"Bulgaria", "Haskovn" and 9th September" are reserved for Bulgarians. A number
of schools have also been reouisitioned for Soviet military personnel.
3. All the houses in Ivan Vazov and Tzar Asen Streets have been requisitioned for
Soviet military personnel. Soviet sentries have been posted at the corere
of these streets and no e3u1.a-.Q118 are allowed to use them.
In the Nadezhda quarter of Plovdiv more than 200 different Soviet tan arf to
be seen and altogether in the laoydiv region at the end of May there ,,re
About 660 Soviet tanks. it, is estimated that in the middle of June tieve were
even more.; The soldiers of the tank unit in the Nadeshda quarter occ :le tIne
