d. There. are no Russian planes in the airfields at Sibiu and Cluj.
o. Oradea has a very large airfield which has some 400 aircraft. The
fighters are Yak-7 and the bombers are of Stormovik model,
f. There are some 300 planes of Yak-7 and Stornovik type at the -rad
airfield.
g. There are no Russian planes at Timisoara, but the Russians are
enlarging the airfield.
h. At Mamaia, there are some 30-40 Boston Bombers and a Russian fighter
squadron which is kept ready to take off five minutes after the
sounding of alarm.
J. Some Boston Bombers were seen at the airfield of Calarasi and at
the Buzau airfield.
3. A Russian air unit. under the command of a colonel is stationed at
Tecuci with some 200 aviation officers. Planes of the unit include
87 Boston Bombers, one 63-:?rench, of Russian make and three Udva
single-engined training biplanes. Every bomber has some 12-14 bombs
each weighing some 150-200 hilograns.
k. At Varna, the tussiaris have a ?i;;hter Squadron which is apt ready to
take off 15 minutes after the sounding of alarm.
Russian air units are feverishly busy in training, but in spite of that,
they seem to be ignorant of scientific methods of flight. For example
they are not very adept in blind-flying and night flights which they attempt
only in case the field is well illuminated. They cannot make a landing
controlled and directed by a radio apparatus.
