2. Various deleg_ tel. to the Berlin Party Convention lave rerorted that some
of the SD groups in the western sectors are already concerning themselves
with the duties which they will have to fulfill a''cer the withdrawal of the
Oritish and An, erican troops. For e:x tmple, the gr . zp in Spandau is making
lists of Social Democrats -.,ho ,dll be permitted t stay in Berlin after the
British and American withdrawals and of those ,rho ,,dill be forced to leave.
Furthermore,,. lists are being; compiled of houses which will be vacated by the
one and a half million inhabitants who are expected to evacuate the city at
this time.

1. The current opposition mood among aster. bars of the Berlin S'.-',D has increased
since the Berlin Party Convention. Delegates to -.he convention have been
reproached for having lacked the courrgc to expre!ts their opinions cpen],y
and advance the critici:Ans which had been maybe by the lower pixty gaups.
Two hundred and seventy resolutions drafted by th(ase groups were not even
read to the assembled delegrytes; after a fifteen-ninute sumr.ary o'P content,
they were simrly turned over to the Party ExeeutiFre Coanittee w33hout further
discussion. This is a clear indication that none of the deleg?;t3s dared op-
pose the party machine.
