of the Ecuadorian Arsgy, reportedly will be appointed Assistant F filitary Attache
to the Ecuadorian nosy, Washington, D.C.
= Although there has been, considerable 3ndicatior that Giron has
cooperated with the Co rn nist elements in Guayaquil, there is no evidence that
he is a Cotusist, nor that he ever has Keen a Party member. It is believed
that he is an opportunist and that any association with the Cc nunists has been
to further his own personal ambitions, His appointment to Washington is
believed to be in recognition of his services during the counterrevolution and
to get hin out of the country to prevent further di?`ficu1.ties.:
