Juan Lorio, Secretary General of the Partido Socialists de Nio aragua (PSN) has
proposed to the Executive Committee the formation of a now pat `?.y bearing the
name "Popular Democratic." Lorio pointed out that the present title "Socialist"
is too restrictive in its implications and not convenient for the fight against
imperialism. Lorio felt that a reorganized party under a new name would attract
some of the present members of the Liberal Independent Party, 'university students,
and Central American unionists.
