SUPPLEMENT
On 14 August-1947 there were eight warships in East Harbor, Port Arthur. '
The ships were small., and dark gray and moved at high rates of speed (destroyers?).
On 20 August one of these ships sank during one of the frequent maneuvers
outside the harbor. The positions-of the ships as of 14 August are shown
2. There are no more than 1,000 Soviet naval personnel in Port Arthur.

On 31 August there were in the harbor of Port Arthur six ships (?) and five
cruisers.
There were also two submarines.
