toss. The factory in beginning to manufacture turbines for hydraulic power
stations.

carry three tons. Type of truck is the Praha 13, six cylinder engine, 70
H.P., which consumes 27 liters of benzine over 100 kilometers and has a
nand antra speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

factory at Zemun.

is at work 16 hours a day, two shifts of eight hours each.

ball-bearings. There is a lack of Crease for the machines. In scene parts
of the factriiy there is no electric light.

hectares, rordering the Zupanj-Vinkovei railway line, between Zupanja and
aradisti;. It is the third sugar factory in Croatia and the eighth in
ugoe1avia.

b. Electricity station for Istria, Fiwae and the coast of Slovenia, situated

obtains water from the artificial lake Bajer. This water passes through
the 199 meter long tunnel of Bajer, along the Licko Poije valley to the
power station.

e. Vajda preserved food factory at Cakovac. Preserves poultry, gate, meat and
eggs. During the first six months of 19147 preserved three million eggs.
f. Neretva factory for the preservation of fruit and vegetables at Opuzen
near ::ietkovic.
g. Preserved fruit factory at Uostar. Produces ?compotese and preserves.
h. Kosstlin biscuit factory at Bjelovac.
i. Nwip factory for the manufacture of alcoholic drinks at Zemun. Formerly
named :dozer.

17. Precision Lachiner Industry
a. Tclooptik precision instrument factory at Zemun. Manufactures optical
instruments for airplanes exclusively. Entry into the factory is strictly
controlled; there is also a strict check kept on production in the factory
itself.
b. Istra precision machinery factory at Kranj. Manufactures typewriters,
telephones and transformers.
18. Tobacco and Cigarette Industry
Tobacco factory at Ljubljana. Manufactures six kinds of cigarettes, also a
'tobacco extract for killing insects harmful, to agriculture. Two thirds of the
employees are women.
b. Tobacco factory at Zagreb. Elevators connecting the various workshops have
been installed.
c. Tobacco factory at Fiume.
