Boriak, was stationed in the barracks in the 11erdauer Strasser Zwickrau,
since 26 January 1948. This raRinsnt arrived from Frunze,. US"R, and was
to be transferred eastward, probably to Gorlitz (B-00) on 6 tiarcH 1948.

In February 1946 on both tho Roni.sbruck (A-31) and G$rlitzer Heide train-
ing areas. The (Arl.itzer Heide is becoming an area of major ir)portance for
formation training and extends eastward to nclude the t euharrner training
area and all the heath country within the CTorlits-&inslanSprottau gan-
Sorau and P,.,ei'7ufa Area.
Apart from the tank formations, the following unite were involved in these
exercises durini? February 1948.

34th Polish Infantry Regiment
28th Soviet Parachute Division
Personalities in these exercises include Generals Ivan Sacharov, Yeremenko,
and A.F. Fyedorov (twice Hera of the Soviet Union).
5. The 28th Parachute Division, which is known as the "Bird"-1'achute Division,
consists of the 4th, 19th, and 30th ParachLteRe ms:nts. These units were
stationed around Dresden for a long time. : Never before
reported.) One of these resimentn left Dre en on araary .948 for ex-
ercises on the GBrlitzor Heide. Of 300 parachutists taking part in one ex-
