THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION FOR THE RESEARCH
USE OF TRAINED INTELLIGENCE ANALYSTS
The Thuringian Police School (Landespol.izeischule Thflringen) is
located on Altonaer Strasse in Erfurt. There is a regular attendance
of approximately 320 students, divided into eight classes averaging
forty students each. Courses include an eight week basic course and
a three-month advanced course; students receiving marks of "good"
or more in the basic course are automatically assigned to the
advanced session. ,
2, Examinations are supervised by Russian officers from the staff of
Lt. Colonel Ivanov, head of MVD Thuringia. Director of the school
is Oberregierungsrat Richard Retzer, SET) (formerly SPD), rho is
expected to be dismissed in the near future because he has lost
the confidence of the Russian authorities.
