1. Exit visas were granted on 12 July 1948 to 119 Taingtao Russian emigres
desiring to migrate to Argentina. Since only a few are able to finance their
own transportation, each case will be investigated by PCIRO (Preparatory
Commission for the International Refugees Organization) and the needy will
,, - ~- be aided financially.
Comment. According to local rumor, all applicants will leave for 25X1 X
25X1X Argentina about the middle of August.)
2. The Argentine authorities have stipulated that those migrating to Argentina
must engage in either manual labor or agriculture.
3. Approxiu ately- 80 additional emigres have requested visas for Argentina.
Most of the applicants expressed a tear that Tsingtao will soon be in
Communist hands.
