At the end of June a labor brigade of some 800 men, which had been sent to
Krksland in April, was transferred to Banja Luka. The area in which they,
ham" been working on the islcnd was one and one-hall kilometers southwwe,t
f Aleksandrovo, which had been evacuated.
3. On 25 June a group of 80 technicians, including some Germans, arrived in Krk
by sea from Dubrovnik. Two days after their arrival they were in Aleksandrovo
but were not allowed to mix with the workers.
The work consists of three concrete underground chambers, each 42 meters long,
running northwest to southeast with an earthen shaft at the northwest end.
Two parallel sets of narrow rails have been laid down in the h.ambers and a
primitive elevator installed in the souyheast end of each. The wL king area
is surrounded with barbed wire.
