I. PR'EN7.LAU (-1006): New troops$ believed to constitute the 312 or :517 Siberian
l Re-aiment, began entering the Prenzlau area on 7 October I948a They have
been billeted in Konigsberg (Q50'), Schapow (U94) s and Sternhagen (403) a tirith
the staff placed in the Sternhagen estate, Starting 8 October and continuing
through 11 Octobers new armored troops apcleared in Prenzlau, where they were
quartered in the former P camp and in the Hindenburg Kasernep Tank training
began imrseciiately, Tank strength is not known, but some local farmers claim
to have seen ap,)ro__cLnately 100 T-:;%' s on the training grounds. Flights of three
planes each have participated in the tank exercises. These aircraft are based
at the Prenzlau airfield, which was recently enlarged.
