In September 19143 Nguyen-Van-Thank I wished to prepare a number o?.
photographs to be used in Viet Minh propaganda activities among the Viet-
namese community in Bangkok. One of the photos showed a Catholic mass being
celebrated in the Viot Minh Loner. This is one of a ,:xyries of pictures de-
signed to illustrate how all the people of Viet Nam, irrespective of relig-
ious beliefs or other differences of opinion, are united in supporting the
rio-chi-Wink government.
2. The photograph in question showed the flag of Vietnam and the flags of the
four war-time allies, the United States, Great Britain, the USSR, and China.
In this picture the hammer and sickle flat of the Soviet Union was prominent
- while those of the other nations were indistinct. Thanh requested the photo-
grapher who was making copies of the photographs to alter the picture so as
the dive the Soviet flag less prominence. In making this request Ttanh sa:-d
