1. Ranid di.f;integration of the current Honduran and Nicaraguan revolutionary
movements was predicted on 24 November, after the t'resident and Foreign
Minister of Guaterala ordered the Honduran revolutionists who were stationed
alonr the Cuatemalan-Honduran border to be reconcentrated in Guatemala City,
2. An undisclosed number of troops, who were quartered in Guatemala City, at
government expense, were given five quetzales apiece and told to leave the
coufitrv as soon as possible. it was re*orted that elements of the Caribbean
Legion now in Guatemala would be disposed of in the same manner.
}olitical,observers attributed the above action to the unfavorable nubli~-ity
received by Cuatemala regarding her alleged participation in Central American
conspiracies. `ether reasons given were that Guatemala is facing a crisis
and possible coup d'etat in her own internal affairs, and that it is doubted
that the revolutionaries can succeed in overthrowing the Carias regime in
Honduras.
