SUPPLEMENT TO
1. The Communists have advised SUNG Han-chaig, chairman of the Board of Directors,
and Z. S. BIEN, assistant general manager of the Dank of China, that upon
Communist occupation of Shanghai, they would retain their positions and no
harm would befall them. SUNG has departed for Ilong. Kong.
2. Three sons of 0. S. LIEU (LIU), industrialist, have sent their families to
Hong Kong, but are remaining in Shanghai pending some unknown negotiations
with the Communists. The sons are Julius LIEU, head of the China Latch
Company; Johnson LIZ., head of the East China Coal Company at Hsuchou; and
25X1X6 Iietrinibal LIEU, head of the Shanghai Portland Cement Company.
3. Y. C. iI NG, general manager of Sungsing L i 1 limber 1, is negotiating, tiith
two agents of L;adsme SUN Yat-sen for the sale of a house at 110 Route Ghi.si,
Shanghai, which i+AHjG evaluates at US $400,000. Hades. SUN 9s needs and desires,
rather than the price, appear to be the prime consideration. The two agents
are TSOH and Dr. Kaufman (both names phonetically rendered).
