1. On 30 Senterlber and 1 October 1948, there was a movement of troops from
Ochrid towards Bitolj and from there to Prilep. These troops included
unite or infantry and motor-draw7n artillery. The exact number of
infantry troops involved is not known, but about a regiment was
involved.
2. The artillery unit was loaded on a train in Bitolj on 1 October and
was sent to-.:ards Prilep. There wore eight 76--m. guns.
3. Soured believes that this was a :r.ovoinent of the independent artillery
unit of 2 Division based at Prilep, and that It was returning from
surmer quarters to which it had gone last July.
4. The military ap2earance or the border region near Florina, (Treece,
appears Unchanged except for the following. In the mountainous regions
above the villages of Gruzsinc (sic), Kisava, Ostree, and Llokveani (sic)
at the end of October there were frequent patrols of infantry consisting
of two platoons each. They have nade ropeated searches in the villages
and h:.ve prohibited movement into or out of these villages in an attempt
to trap a ,guerrilla bc_nd. At the sane time gendarmerie forces made
searches in these villages. The total strength of troops engaged in,
making those patrols is est9.ratod to be two companies of infantry; they
have some cannon and artillery.
