OF PAGES 2 NO. OF ENCLS. (LISTED BELOW) /; 3 2 4 4 REPORT NO. 1. Krizevci (northeast of Zagreb : Site of the Command Post of 3 Division of First Army Corps. The division is composed of two infantry regiments, one engineer regiment and one artillery group. The infantry regiments are located along the Hungarian border while the engineers are situated along those sections of the Yugoslav-Hungarian frontier suited to the con- struction of fortifications. 2. Petro Varazdin: The tamp site of an unidentified infantry regiment eqh machine guns and medium tanks, each with two guns mounted. 3. Vukovar (southeast of Osijek): A motorized company belonging to a unit of III Corps situated here. Also in the same location is a company of assault troops equipped with mortars and small cannon. !. Vinkovci (south southeast of Osijek): Autumn maneuvers were conducted heresy troops from OiL1ek. 5. Pozarevac (east southeast of Belgrade): At this site 22 Soviet tanks be-- longing to an armored unit moving in a southeasterly direction to Petrovac were observed in early November 1948. 6. Varazdint Heavy artillery noticed recently at this site include 12 Skoda Krupp cannons built for heavy shells; 2 Rheinsmetall AA guns; 6 American and Tatra armored vehicles (two of which are out of order because of lack of spare parts), and.motor drawn AA guns. 7. Novi Bece': Site of the headquarters of 3 Motorized Division. Commanding officer of the Division is General Cecik, (fnu), who has undergone in- tensive military training in the Soviet Union. For a while he was attached to Soviet troops in Germany. The Division has new Bofors AA guns. Its headquarters are in a camouflaged farm house while its components are dis- persed throughout the area of Start Becej, Senta, Beodra, Torda, Botosa Veliki Beckerek, close to the Rumanian border.
