Che so Cit1? There are two detachments in the city of Cherso. The
atir-ettth of the detachments are 15 men of the Popular Militia (Narodna'
Miloija) and 20 or 25 men of the Popular Defense (Narodna Obrana).
a. At S. Martino (1 on attached sketch), in position to the south of
Cherso there is a force of 28 men charged with maintaining public
order and surveillance. These men are commanded by a non-conmissioned-
o:t,fioor and are armed with automatic rifles (Brno type). All men
belong to the Narodna Milicija.

towards Faresina. Near the batteries, caves have been dug which
are used as barracks and refuge. The deepest cave is used as an
alftu Ction dump. There are about 18 men belonging to the naval
infantry who guard these artillery pieces. Each battery is commanded
by a Navy officer-cadet. At Dragosetici there is in addition a
detachment of 12 men belonging to the Narodna 0brane.. Their
armament ais composed of ix automatic arms and six erman rifles.
